Each semester, students in Ms. Denise Bogard's writing lab flex their writing muscles in various contests and competitions. This year, Lift for Life authors entered the Youth Writing Contest co-hosted by the St. Louis Writers Guild and The Book House. The contest theme was "It was a dark and stormy night." Lift for Life authors dove into the contest theme head-first, earning five students honors in the competition. As a matter of fact, out of the thirteen students who received recognition in the contest, five were Lift for Life students! Way to go Lift for Life authors! This month, take a look at Arissa Calvert's piece, "The Mysterious Ghost Couple." Arissa won Second Place for grades 4-6.
